With hustle and bustle, the week went past...

The school week started with the morning assembly. I continued with the activity session of "The Nightingale and the Rose". As a part of the textual activity, the students prepared posters on the topic conservation of nature. Posters displayed the various dimensions of creative and critical skills in the learners. The children showed great interest and enthusiasm in making posters as they enjoyed working with colours using their own ideas and artistic talents.

The Poster World

During our first internship phase, we need to organize a school based activity for the paper "Learner in the Educational Perspective" (EDU -12). For the same, we, the English optional students, conducted an awareness session on "Geriatrics" for the students of VIII C on 30th November 2023 (Thursday). We also provided a questionnaire to the participants, thereby assessing the current level of awareness of the children regarding the problems of the elderly and ways to tackle them. As follow-up activity, we also asked the students to prepare posters on the topic and send us photos clicked with their grandparents.

This week, I got the opportunity to engage the students of VIII E as well. I taught them the final part of the story "The Nightingale and the Rose" and introduced the concepts of synonyms and antonyms as part of the text based activities.
The state level Social Science Fair was also conducted this week. The students who represented our school could secure A Grade for their working model of Chandrayaan.
The week came to a close with an achievement test. Taking into account the ten essential mental processes in learning, a test paper was conducted for the students of VIII B on 1 December 2023 (Friday). The chapters chosen for the test were "The Light on the Hills", "The Village Blacksmith" and the "Song of the Flower". The weekend was blessed with the pleasure of assessing my students' levels of achievement as well as the effectiveness of my teaching strategies. The results were satisfactory and helpful in boosting my confidence as a prospective teacher.

Achievement Test

As we head towards the final days of our internship phase, I feel a mix of emotions - the sadness of leaving the liveliness of school and students and the happiness of returning to our own college classroom....!!
