Back to Nature
June 5 - World Environment Day; Today literally marked a return to nature!!
Our class conducted the morning assembly and it was suffused with sparkling thoughts on environment and the need of living in harmony with nature. We took the environment day pledge and Miss. Neha S. Remanan shared her ideas on this year's environment day theme "#BeatPlasticPollution, Ecosystem Restoration".
I had the opportunity to share a few lines from the Malayalam poem "Achan Piranna Veedu" by Sri. V. Madhusoodanan Nair. Through the lines, I presented my thoughts on harmonious existence with the environment and the inseparability of human life and nature.
Miss. Mithu Mariam Sam delivered an ecocritical analysis of the popular song "Enjoy Enjaami" conscientizing the viewers about the politics of the song that is perhaps stronger than its beats. We also conducted an environment day related quiz and gave seeds and environment day cards to our teachers.

The Sabari Nature Club in the college has also organized a couple of programmes as part of the Environment Day observation "Bhauma2k23". Of these, the "Kilikkoodu" making competition symbolized a sweet tribute to our chirping friends in nature and all departments presented beautiful nests for the same.

The Nature Club has organized a photography competition also titled "Snap the insect world". We explored the entire campus to take pictures and got surprized by the teeming life that we were ignoring so far though we ourselves spent much time in the midst of it. I remembered my childhood days in which I spent hours tracing ants, digging out antlions and observing beehives and spider webs. For me, it was a moment of realization that somehow, I had lost that warm link with nature and it has been long since I cared for it's abundant charms.
